Survey says that homeowners are happy people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Homes make people happy \u2013 at least that\u2019s what the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/info.bankofamerica.com\/homebuyers-report\/\">Homebuyer Insights Report<\/a> says after talking to thousands of consumers throughout the United States. Buyers remorse? No way! In fact, most Americans have no regrets about buying a home.<\/p>\n<p>While the study found that most Americans prefer a mortgage payment to rent and felt that owning a home was a better, more stable and more desirable financial decision than renting, they also felt that the emotional benefits were just as important.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Most homeowners (93%) credited their happiness to an improved lifestyle and the variety of hobbies that come with owning. In fact, 88% said it was the best decision they ever made. And they went on and on about the happiness factor of owning a home, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 50% of homeowners defined a home as a place to make memories<\/li>\n<li>79% said that owning a home has changed them for the better<\/li>\n<li>Two-thirds of respondents say their relationships with family and loved ones changed for the better since purchasing a home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Owning a home also was credited for people developing new hobbies and expanding their life experiences, with three out of four of those crediting new hobbies such as landscaping and gardening, cooking\/baking\/grilling, and interior design or remodeling resulting from buying a home.<\/p>\n<p>Survey responders also credited homeownership as improving relationships in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Giving families a sense of pride: 47%<\/li>\n<li>More opportunities for entertaining: 49%<\/li>\n<li>Ability to strengthen family ties by bringing everyone under one roof: 24%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As experienced real estate agents here in the Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla and Mat-su Valley area of Alaska, we know how much homeownership means to our clients and friends.
