Anchorage Makes the List<\/h2>\n

When it comes to living AND launching a business, you just can\u2019t beat Anchorage. According to the current (April 2017) issue of Entrepreneur Magazine, Anchorage, Alaska was named as one of the 50 Best Cities for Entrepreneurs<\/a> that help businesses flourish. According to Peter Cohan, an investor and author of Disciplined Growth Strategies, the location entrepreneurs choose is vital to their success. \u201cBeyond a great product, strong marketing and sufficient capital, startups thrive or fizzle depending on their environment and the people in them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Entrepreneur Magazine partnered with Livability.com<\/a> to compile the data that led to this list, looking closely at a wide variety of issues that affect business creation and growth including employment rate, affordable homes, per capita spending, commute times, safety, diversity, rates of healthcare coverage, wage growth, household income growth, and more.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re extremely proud, and not surprised, that Anchorage made the list. In a world where the success of a business can often depend on the relationships it has in the community, then it makes sense that Anchorage, Eagle River, Mat-Su Valley and the surrounding communities would rank high on any entrepreneur\u2019s list as both a great place to work and a great place to live.  <\/p>\n

Alaska offers a surprising amount of amenities for adventurous entrepreneurs looking for a location outside the continental U.S. to base their business. According to the Livability.com research rounded up to compile this list, when compared to other cities on the list, Anchorage also places in the top 5 for small business loans, the top 10 for health care coverage and transportation affordability, and the top 20 for affordable housing. It\u2019s also been named a Top 100 Best Place to Live<\/a>, and a Best City for Beer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
